Chicago, IL September 18, 2006 – The Private Company Index (PCI) climbed 77 points from July, reaching 642—a record high since its inception nearly one year ago. This chart-busting number indicates that PCI companies have grown, on average, 40.55% in the year-to-date. This month’s 13.7% growth exceeds NASDAQ’s 4.41% increase and the Dow Index’s rise of 1.75%. Year-to-date performance shows that PCI Companies, on average, have grown approximately 6.6 times faster than the Dow Index and immeasurably over the NASDAQ Index’s charted loss.
Bruce Camber, CEO of the Private Business Channel—an entity that co-founded the PCI with Entrex, explains why he’s eager to share this month’s great news, “Most of the media focuses on big business and more often than not, on the negatives. We focus on the positives because that is our country’s future and an important part of the world’s future. Without question, fast-growth entrepreneurial companies are the heart of capitalism!”
He goes on to say, “Our partnership makes great sense. Where Entrex wants to create a new asset category for alternative investors, our focus is to distribute the most credible stories and news about the best private businesses we can find. We want these companies to have the same credibility and clarity within the financial community as publicly-traded companies.”
From the perspective of PCI member companies, the trend remains positive looking forward. Brittenford Systems CEO & Founder, Michael Mahoney, states “Although our overall sales are flat year-over-year, our sales related to Microsoft business solutions are growing at over 40%. In June we reorganized to take advantage of the surging market opportunity for Microsoft Dynamics and related financial management solutions, and the results are already showing. Our forecast for the coming twelve months is for overall sales growth approaching 30%.”
On September 21, at the Grand Hyatt New York, Mr. Camber will represent the Private Company Index and Private Business Channel at the Entrex Market Summit. An event orchestrated to bring together various market constituents including capital, companies, broker-dealers, private equity and hedge fund professionals to discuss the creation of the "new assets" being created by Entrex for the financial community.
